Solo Exhibition by Hajriansyah Brings New Nuances to Art in Bali
Denpasar, Bali – An artist from Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Hajriansyah, has held his first solo exhibition after an 8-year hiatus from the art world. Hajriansyah, who is also the Chairman of the Banjarmasin City Art Council and an alumnus of ISI Jogja in the 80s, has found a new passion for creating art and presented 20 unique artworks in an exhibition titled “Love Life Lite”.
The exhibition was held at TAT Art Space, an art space in The Ambengan Tenten, Denpasar, Bali. With the exhibition period starting from May 12 to May 25, 2023, Love Life Lite provided a platform for Hajriansyah to express his latest ideas. In his works, Hajriansyah combines cultural themes and local wisdom of the Banua Land with surreal touches using large brushes.
The exhibition opening was highlighted by an opening speech from TAT founder, Kinno Thingker, as well as remarks from Yurison Suryantara, TAT Art Space manager, and Bagus Gonk, a well-known artist who also acted as art curator. Their presence added to the uniqueness of the Love Life Lite exhibition, showing appreciation for Hajriansyah’s artwork and providing deeper insights into the messages that the artist wants to convey.
In this exhibition, visitors can enjoy the beauty and complexity in each displayed artwork. Hajriansyah successfully captured the essence of Tanah Banua culture and local wisdom, presenting them in a stunning visual form. By combining surreal elements, he provides a new perspective that enriches the experience of viewing art.
Not only that, the Love Life Lite exhibition also featured a Poetry Musicalization performance by Hajriansyah and his colleagues. The combination of poetic words and the rhythm of “Sape Dayak” music is expected to create a deeper experience for visitors. Through a combination of visual art, music, and poetry, this exhibition provides an opportunity for the audience to fully experience and appreciate Hajriansyah’s artworks.
Hajriansyah hopes that this exhibition can inspire people to appreciate the richness of local culture and see the world from a broader perspective. In Love Life Lite, he invites visitors to contemplate, dream, and explore the imaginative world created through his artworks. This exhibition proves that art has the power to unite people from different backgrounds and build bridges between cultures.
